Time and place of meetings
Norris Advanced Networking meets every Friday from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at Crazy Pinz located at 1414 Northland Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. Telephone (260) 490-2695.
What are the meetings like?
Norris Advanced Networking Group draws small and large business owners from the Greater Ft Wayne and the surrounding areas and provides an opportunity for business owners to network with one another building new relationships and expanding business contacts.
Each week you have an opportunity to stand in front of the group to introduce yourself to the group and give a one minute presentation (also called the infomercial) about your business and how you and your business can be of service to our members. An easy way to do your presentation is to think of it as a mini speech with an opening, body, and closing.
What is the meeting protocol?
The meeting begins at 11:30 am so we ask that you arrive a bit early to find a good seat.
Cell phones and pagers must be turned off or set to silent or vibrate. We request you do not take cell phone calls or answer pagers during presentations. If you need to take a call as an emergency, please be courteous when exiting and reentering the room.
Please also be courteous and do not hold conversations with fellow members during presentations. Each of us wants to be the center of attention when we are presenting our information.
The icing on the proverbial cake of the meeting is to stay after the meetings to mingle and network – - which is the real purpose of the meeting!
How long do I have to talk?
Norris Advanced Networking limits standard presentations from 1-2 minutes so that everyone has time to speak. Bring a door prize as a treat and you can request up to an additional minute for your presentation. Extended presentations are also offered by advanced request on a first come first served basis.
A door prize (minimum $15 value) is required for extended presentation times that are typically 10 -15 minutes. See Bob for any stipulations.
General announcements such as special events are held after all speakers have completed their presentations.
How do you signal presenters when their time is almost up?
Presentations are timed and the following visual cues (colored cards) are given:
* YELLOW
The yellow card means that your time is about to run out, so wrap up quickly!
* RED
The red card means your time is up!
What do I need to bring?
Please bring:
* Returning members – - one business card
* Newcomers - – two business cards that way Cindy and I can each have your card!
* Fliers and handouts about your business
* $2.00 hostess fee provides you with FREE Coffee, soda, ice water!
I am looking for a Job. Can Norris Advanced Networking Help?
Yes! Norris Advanced Networking welcomes all career seekers who are looking a new employment opportunity whether they were looking for one or provided the opportunity to look for one.
Why are there meeting fees or other requirements?
What is the $2.00 hostess fee? The $2.00 hostess fee is paid regardless of the cost of your food / drink order (even if you do not order food, remember soft drinks and ice water are FREE!) We have a large group. We work our servers hard and they do a great job for us by minimizing interruptions and serving our meals in an expedient manner. This is payable to the server.
