Tribute to those who gave up THEIR Freedom for US
This upcoming Monday is Memorial Day – I hope every American pauses and remembers those brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. As we lower our flags to remember those lost in battle, let us also remember our brave military currently fighting two wars thousands of miles from our shores. They fight on foreign soil to keep us safe in our own land.
From the first Memorial Day in 1868, we have sought ways to express our gratitude toward those who have died defending our freedom and keeping us safe.
I hope that each of you will take time to attend a special service or pray in church for the memories of all who have died in service to our country. And if you see veteran, take the time to thank them for all that they do.
I would love to read your special memories of veterans who have touched your lives. Please share with us one of your favorite recollections.
Remember – Because of them we are free.
Bob, Thank you for all the wonderful tributes on the site and this opportunity to respond.
As I said Friday, “we are an Army family” and regardless of how you feel about war, our loved ones, families and friends have fought for the freedoms, rights and the very fact that you can freely say how you feel about war in this great land of ours.
The dedication, the sacrifices the troops make, the sacrifices the families at home make, the big picture is not how individuals feel, the big picture is what each and every veteran, each and every troop has done to preserve our freedom, our security, our well-being. Our very existence would not be possible without them.
God Bless each and every one, each and every family, each and every soul EVER lost so we may live in this country, in this great land, and God Bless the USA!!!!
